Our History
I remember our first client, a widow named Nalumansi, who received a Ugx500,000 loan to invest in her retail business. She repaid the loan with interest and went on to become a successful entrepreneur, employing others and contributing to her community’s economic growth.
Stories like Nalumansi’s fueled my determination to scale our impact. We expanded our services, introduced new products, and leveraged technology to reach more clients.
How We Started
As a young entrepreneur, I witnessed firsthand struggles of small business owners and farmers in both rural and urban Uganda. They lacked access to quick and affordable credit, training, and markets, making it impossible for them to grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
This sparked a passion in me to create a solution. I founded Swabo Microfinance Limited with a mission to provide quick yet affordable financial services to the Low income earners especially youth and women.
Today, Swabo serves hundreds of clients, providing them with different loan products and trainings. We are helping farmers too increase their yields through smart farming practices such as irrigation, entrepreneurs are growing their businesses, and families improving their livelihoods.
As CEO, I’m proud of our team’s dedication to our mission. We’ve faced challenges, but our commitment to empowering the Low income earners especially youth and women remains unwavering.
My journey has taught me that even small actions can have a profound impact. By providing access to financial services and smart agricultural practices such as irrigation for farmers, we’re not only changing lives but also contributing to a more equitable and prosperous society.
